The WV 46 segment at MD 36/135 is explicitly posted as W VA 46 now

Did it used to be signed for MD-36 there instead going towards WV?  What does MD's documents say about this?

I would have no problem adding another 'MD WV-46' file.

Not aware it was ever signed as MD 36.

The 2018 HLR (most recent one) calls it MD 36.

This is another example of something that has been a point of contention elsewhere - state route ends at state line, road intersects another route shortly after state line, signage at junction is for route in other state but no "TO" banner is posted.

I maintain that in all such cases the "TO" is implied and thus no, there is no WV 46 in MD regardless of what this sign says. To interpret otherwise is to overthink and overanalyze the situation. The state line is 300 feet from that sign.

EDIT: just realized we're talking about the other protrusion of WV 46 into MD. This is in the HB as MD 36 (http://travelmapping.net/hb/?units=miles&u=null&r=md.md036&lat=39.482208&lon=-79.042361&zoom=16) and the official route log (https://www.roads.maryland.gov/OPPEN/2016%20Allegany_HLR_web.pdf) shows MD 36 beginning at the state line. I am content to leave this as is since it matches the log.
