I recall this being a point of contention before but I double checked that I-471 did end at 275. It is signed right at sunset dr. For reference the ZERO milepost is here (https://goo.gl/maps/PBS1Zpsh7fqnjzmBA). What was the consensus?
Edit: Fixed broken link. -yakra

Ironically, I was discussing this with myself earlier (https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0364885,-84.4539929,3a,75y,4.14h,90t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1szQ1MKXBoPExkakZ2TM6a6g!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DzQ1MKXBoPExkakZ2TM6a6g%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D3.2178333%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192). My understanding is that it is officially unsigned KY 471 between US 27 and I-275.
-
Hasn't Tim Brown or H.B. Elkins said (on AAroads, or even MTR) that the connector road, between I-471/275 & US 27 is a hidden KY state route number?

Like the northern end of I-65, this sign changes things completely and would make an extension of I-471 to US 27 make sense.
-
Still haven't read that I-65 thread, but...
/me throws ME I-195 into the mix
-
That sign has been there for years. I'm okay with extending I-471, but it seems that it was decided long ago that it ends at 275. KYTC refers to internally as KY 471, but I've never seen a KY 471 sign in the field.
-
I do not think I-471 extends south of I-275.
That MM0 is within the interchange footprint, also worth noting that FHWA lists 5.02 miles for I-471 (https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/planning/national_highway_system/interstate_highway_system/routefinder/table02.cfm) which is consistent with the MM0 location (https://www.google.com/maps/dir/39.1008895,-84.4957761/39.0439296,-84.4586466/@39.0730935,-84.494848,13.25z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0).

And yet there is that pesky "North I-471" sign immediately after the light going north...
I don't necessarily consider this as cut-and-dried as the north terminus of I-65. That one has completely clear and convincing evidence. I-471 is more confusing.
-
I think there is a case to be made to include unsigned KY 471 (similar to MD 896, though that is a different situation).
-
Are we prepared to go down the entirety of that rabbit hole?

Good point (presuming you are responding to my post).... I would prefer making it part of actual I-471 before doing that. (Thanks to myself for bringing back our favorite discussion!!)
-
Lets leave I-471 alone and go work on Mississippi.
-
Aren't some of those signs kind of just indicating one very large footprint of the interchange with long ramps to US27? That looks like what the point on US27 is indicating. There are also blue signs there that say "RAMP 275/471 TO US 27S" (https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0384592,-84.454079,3a,15y,211.13h,85.87t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1shvwuGub-R6I0PPH5NMCObA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192) and "RAMP US27N TO 275 & 471N" (https://www.google.com/maps/@39.038471,-84.4539447,3a,75y,5.92h,70.01t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1szTX0ladKp9T4DVvZK4Xi9A!2e0!7i16384!8i8192) which corroborate that idea.

Since there's not a broad consensus that I-471 needs extended I'll leave it alone and mark this solved.
