Drove the length of WI 145 yesterday. Highway Browser shows it ending at I-41, but it is signed past this and ends at WI 175.
-
This looks like a very recent change:
--GMSV from 2019 shows WI 145 ending at neither WI 175 nor I-41, but back at US 45.
--WIS DOT's Washington County map (https://wisconsindot.gov/Documents/travel/road/hwy-maps/county-maps/washington.pdf) shows 145 ending at I-41.
--All the signs in that maze of devil's circles say "To WI 145" but those could obviously be greened out easily to extend it along Pioneer.
--In 2020 Richfield County said (https://www.gmtoday.com/traffic/work-to-begin-on-county-trunk-highway-fd-pioneer-road-from-sth-175-to-richfield/article_22e013c4-7456-11ea-8bba-cbaa5de02920.html)
Reconstruction of County Trunk Highway (CTH) FD (Pioneer Road), from State Trunk Highway (STH) 175 to Richfield Way in the Town of Polk and Village of Richfield is scheduled to begin on Monday April 6th, 2020 and be substantially completed by the end of July.
So I'm guessing that the county rebuilt Pioneer last year and then gave it to the state? I can see that happening.

You're probably right about it being the Pioneer rebuild. The Wikipedia page for WI 145 was edited on 12/17/20 by someone to change the northern terminus to WI 175, although the source they linked to no longer shows relevant info.

This photo was from October 2020, whereby WI 145 is signed as ending at 175:
