Title: FL 105 south end
Post by: neroute2 on April 16, 2023, 11:53:30 pm
Why do we have SR 105 along what's marked as TO 105 (https://www.google.com/maps/@30.405219,-81.6484117,3a,40.7y,90.26h,84.89t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s70CBjL8PpF4XycscG0lO9g!2e0!7i16384!8i8192)? Neither SLDs nor GIS data show it here.

Simple.  For so many years, FDOT had it posted along there to US-17, instead of over to I-95.

If you change the dates on the GSV imagery you linked to to Aug '19, you can clearly see a 'NORTH' banner above the FL-105 shield.

I also see that they removed the 'SOUTH' shield here (https://goo.gl/maps/f61KbgXUBKPuTr2S9) in the 2023 imagery (https://goo.gl/maps/p8P5YqXUVFtcEQea6).

However, before I made any changes, I'd love conformation that this signage (https://goo.gl/maps/TLpX2WUaK5QbP7tn7) has changed as well, not directing people to the left to continue on FL-105.

Also would love to see them change this 'NORTH' shield (https://goo.gl/maps/KvR7tTiE3cKha5g29) to add a 'TO' as well along US-17, since that's the only way you can access NB FL-105.

It does seem to be gone (https://www.google.com/maps/@30.406674,-81.6453999,3a,15y,68.38h,89.51t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1seIgMxpOhexH1TgQ_LEGz8w!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DeIgMxpOhexH1TgQ_LEGz8w%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D142.88718%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192), and I don't remember seeing it when I drove there last month. I definitely remember it still says to 17 left.

Yep. That looks like the same assembly dead center in the image, with 1 sign post instead of 2.

Also would love to see them change this 'NORTH' shield (https://goo.gl/maps/KvR7tTiE3cKha5g29) to add a 'TO' as well along US-17,
IMO this one is less convincing. DOTs will often fail to sign something with a TO when technichally it'd be more appropriate.

since that's the only way you can access NB FL-105.
This. There's no EB ramp so that movement is made via the surface road. Reminds me of US1, I-195 & ME5 (https://travelmapping.net/hb/showroute.php?r=me.us001&lat=43.511927&lon=-70.432019&zoom=15).
And TO isn't typically signed at ordinary ramps.
