Title: SEPTA 'Metro' project
Post by: si404 on August 12, 2023, 04:45:57 am
Apparently due to be implemented early next year. It rebrands the Subways, Trolleys and Light Rail as 'Metro' and gives the services an alphanumeric designation (the alpha bit being the line) as part of a wider redo of signage and wayfinding on the network.

The finalised version (modified by the politicians, presumably) is yet to be announced, but here's an older version: https://map.septa.org/

Looks to me like the trolley lines will need to have their numbers replaced with the new designations, certainly.

The subway lines... I am inclined to put the new designations in parentheses after the existing monikers, if only because I know how people are and it will very quickly become the case that if you ask any Philadelphia resident about the L line you'll either get blank stares or immediately out yourself as a tourist.
