Took the 747 bus from near Concordia University to the airport yesterday, and I see that there is no point on A-20 for the westbound exit to the airport, just one for exit 56 at A-520. Is this intentional, or do we think a second point is valid here?

I don't know if intentional, since the system was drafted by someone who's dropped out of sight. But the two points would be so close together (about 0.3 mile apart), and with the same exit number 56 (with separate ramp numbers 56/56-E and 56-O), that we might normally apply the "one point per interchange" principle.
Leaving this open for now, until I'm less busy (at a college class reunion right now).

^ The autoroute system was also drafted long before the airport connector actually opened, so that exit wouldn't have been there at the time.

2013 MS Streets and Trips shows the connector between the airport and A-520, but not reaching A-20.
A-520 has a point for the airport connector, which could use a tweak.
