according to this post on AARoads (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=18287.msg2940434#msg2940434), I-42 should be signed along the Goldsboro bypass by the end of the year, and on the Clayton bypass by February. Other posts suggests that signs already are in the field, including photos of some on the under-construction NC540.

Goldsboro Bypass signing starts next week.

So, it seems that both exits inside of the I-40/42/NC-540 complex interchange are getting separate numbers on I-40.
Exit 310 is coming back, and is for NC-540, while Exit 309 stays with US-70(I-42).

Both I-42 segments added

I don't see a Pull Request for I-42/NC540.

Mapmikey is still emailing files to Jim so I am unsure when the update will actually be in the HB.
EDIT: (Jim has received them. https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/commit/af9f8f4e82591c1010d4771f6e1e13c965adf198)

I just committed and pushed the latest batch:

Updates entries are still needed (at least for I-42, NC 540, and NC 295).

updates entries were sent for both I-42 segments, NC 540, NC 295 and US 58

Ok. The updates entries are actually here. (https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/commit/dda2395f838cfdae2238f0da5fb812fc05091a19) That explains my confusion.

Small exit number issue here.
https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?msg=2948074
They didn't renumber either end of the Goldsboro bypass exit numbers. They retained US-70 mileage at this time. This doesn't effect the eastern junction, as that's a full interchange & US-70's file still has the 'old' number in it. However, since the western junction is only a partial interchange, it needs to be fixed. Pictures @ link above.
US-70 & US70BypGol:
I-42(34) -> 350
I-42Gol:
34 -> 350(70)

I got 47 in my photos for Parkstown Rd instead of 48.

fixes made

Is there a reason why we have not deleted US70BypGol yet?
-
So, the 'main' file of I-42 already needs exit number fixes sadly.

This means, that what we currently have as '8' probably is really '10', but no pictures of that one yet.
Also, on US-70's file, the labels along this 'segment' of I-42 should be the '4(42)' style, due to US-70 having it's own numbers there too.

Surely (mostly) moot as the change that needs to happen on US70 is moving it off of 42 rather than relabelling exits that aren't on the road.

US 70 rerouted back to old routing in TM.

So we do have a huge problem. Looking through the update on Github (https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/commit/bf0b0b90e859f114ad4b7dbaf501e32b61b885df#diff-cedb0e41cc0a696c793b6bb2849f416f717a2b94010f4d607ca1047592dd0f06), US70BusGol was inadvertently deleted instead of US70BypGol.
Secondarily in big issues in VA, VA 375 has its own VA375 label that should be VA3.

Not a huge problem. I noticed and fixed it last night (I believe).

Yeah you had fixed it.

You guessed correctly. It is 10 (see 7:15).

;D
So, as soon as we finally get the I-42 exit numbers fixed (this includes fixing them in NC-36's file too, as well as US-70's 'I-42(8 )' label to "10(42)"), we can mark this thread as solved I think.
