State transportation officials say a bypass connecting Route 113 and Route 24 around downtown Millsboro is on schedule to open in September.
Work has been underway for years to build the bypass north of Millsboro. The plan involves constructing a series of bridges across the northern end of Millsboro Pond. It also includes a new grade-separated intersection at the junction of Route 113 and Route 20.

So the current plan is for DE 24 to be rerouted onto the bypass with DE 24 through Millsboro becoming DE 24 BUS.
