I am curious as to where these routes came from. They do not appear on the LA DOTD road transfer maps (see Catahoula_North map here (http://wwwsp.dotd.la.gov/Inside_LaDOTD/Divisions/Multimodal/Road_Transfer/Pages/District_58.aspx)) or the District 58 map (http://wwwsp.dotd.la.gov/Inside_LaDOTD/Divisions/Multimodal/Data_Collection/Mapping/Pages/State_District_Parish_Maps.aspx) (look at the Harrisonburg inset), and they are not signed on GSV - 1018-4 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/GF4vMmX4N6wArYAQA) and 1018-5 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/9zjrktSRDGCepVvZ7).
These are both parts of Old LA 8 before the new bridge was built, but I can't see any evidence that they are current routes. LA 1018-3 is also a part of old LA 8, but there is at least one sign for it (https://maps.app.goo.gl/d2iTktvPMMsaz6kaA), and it does appear on the District 58 map, while the other 2 do not.
Should these 2 routes be deleted?

Deleted in https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/pull/8238 (https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/pull/8238)
I found the story here: https://github.com/mapcat/HighwayData/blob/master/hwy_data/LA/usala/README.md (https://github.com/mapcat/HighwayData/blob/master/hwy_data/LA/usala/README.md)
When available, GMSV imagery was used to ensure highways were signed. In cases where imagery was not available (or predated a highway's designation), signage was assumed. Field checking these routes would be appreciated:
...
1018-3
1018-4
1018-5
...
Given GMSV updates since the set was drafted, I need to run through the entire list. LA 1018-3 is now viewable (and is signed), but I'll get to the other 6 (and multiple other questions about other routes) later.

Ok. I found the current GSV status of those 6 routes below. I hope this is helpful:
LA 547 - still no GSV imagery available
LA 826 - still no GSV imagery available
LA 897-4 - signed on LA 897-1 from the north (https://maps.app.goo.gl/hAFdciyVaWzaeCwJ9) and the south (https://maps.app.goo.gl/CQaX4S2D2mVvH6Uv5), but not on the route itself at either the east end (https://maps.app.goo.gl/XP4qYTZ4uu6ykVWa7) or the west end. (https://maps.app.goo.gl/EQQwVQUWowegzPrq9) It's also not signed on LA 897-5 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/UBYSL7MBbimtbH3c6). LA 897-1 and 897-5 are signed on 897-4 though.
LA 897-5 - Signed at both the south end (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Lg3VtELQ4X5uuTF87) and the north end (https://maps.app.goo.gl/FDgEqi5zhZtXMmeD8).
LA 1265 - Signed on LA 153 from the north (https://maps.app.goo.gl/GCZZ9AMu8vu7BaqU6) and the south (https://maps.app.goo.gl/jXJM8XEoBAmBoVxz7), but nothing is visible on the route itself at the east end (https://maps.app.goo.gl/RrPktLYLbZ6ToRFc8), and GSV hasn't driven the route, so nothing is available at the other end.
LA 3102 - Here's the west end (https://maps.app.goo.gl/A5b4Rg1kjmfzAcFT8), with an "End of Maintenance" sign behind, but nothing seems to be available for the other end.

Thanks. That signage is enough to keep those 4 in the set. I'll have more time to deal with the other questions in the document later.

Ok. I'll try to look at it too when I get a chance.

Just to follow up - I was able to check these in person yesterday and can confirm that 1018-4 and 1018-5 have no signage at either end. LA 1018-3 is signed at both ends. I also drove LA 124 to its end and found that it is now paved and signed to this intersection with LA 3102 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/t8FasJt1PVvTqbek6), instead of ending at the east intersection with LA 3102 as it currently is in TM. You can see in the GMSV imagery that it was under construction a few years ago. It is fully signed to that intersection now, so can be extended in TM.
Regarding the question about the route of LA 124 through Harrisonburg (in your link above), it is correctly routed in TM according to its signage.

Super. Thanks for the recon. https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/pull/8255
