NC: Whalebone Junction
« on: January 07, 2017, 01:01:13 pm »
Previously, US 158 and US 64 ended at the intersection of Virginia Dare Trail and Cape Hatteras National Park Road with NC 12 running to the south and east. The current database and waypoint naming is from this era.
Now, US 158 and US 64 have been moved to new construction bypassing that intersection on the west.
The endpoints for US 64 and US 158 should be moved to the intersection of the new construction with Virginia Dare trail.
The endpoint for US 158 should be renamed to just US64, since it no longer encounters NC 12.
The endpoint for US 64 should be renamed to just US158, since it no longer encounters NC 12.
The waypoint on NC 12 should be renamed to VirDareTrl, since it no longer encounters US 64 or US 158.

I have made fixes and is in my queue for Jim...

NC 12 - renamed point with Alt label of US 64/158 retained
US 64 - moved the point to the south end of the BYpass, renamed point US 158, retained Alt Label of US 158/12
US 158 - new point that is the same location as the US 64 pt above; moved the original point to the north end of the bypass, renamed but retained US 64/12 Alt Label.

This may affect anyone who has actually driven the bypass on their US 158 file, as you will have to change your last endpoint to US 64 to get credit for it, otherwise you will have a short piece of US 158 missing.  This will not affect the US 64 file for anyone.
