I found a picture of the other end on Wikipedia...
The new postings at the VA 45 jct managed to put business banners on some 45 shields instead of 460 shields.
The bannerless mini 15 shield on Griffin near Oak has been there a long time.
US 15 Business used to follow Oak and High. It was posted that way until the mid 1990s, then changed to the way it is posted now. Griffin Blvd had never been in the primary system. Even better, the latest VDOT county map (2004) and traffic log still show 15 Business using Oak and High. The 2016 traffic log assigns urban route 3851 to Griffin Blvd. Wonder if 2017 will reflect any changes (several months before that one will be out).
The CTB no longer seems to post items related to route changes unless they are relinquishing maintenance like VA 237 recently. New routes like the VA 167 resurrection get no mention either. Virginia stopped petitioning AASHTO for US route changes done by independent cities (and no apparently incorporated towns where VDOT does not do the maintenance...today there is no funding reason to have a street in or out of the primary system anymore in such jurisdictions).
So is the US 15 ALT a real route? No idea. But I am inclined to add it.
