KY: KY158 and KY3303
« on: September 17, 2019, 07:17:35 pm »
It looks like the westernmost part of KY158 is not in the HB. While the HB currently has KY158 ending at KY111 in Hillsboro, it actually extends from there (shown via field signage and KYTC maps) west and then south to end at Harmon Lane.

Also, KY3303 is no longer signed. GMSV has signs posted at its junction with KY32, but in a field check this past weekend, they were nowhere to be found. Bummer.

And a final note of 'no action needed'. Noticed a new KY2405 on KYTC maps, which is sandwiched between NKU's campus and I-275, but field checked it and it had no signs.

I'm un-marking this solved. Or marking it un-solved. Or something.

When I made the update to KY 3303, just out of curiosity I sent an email to KYTC about the removal of the signs. Depending on what they said, I was going to ask if they were planning on doing any other de-signings, or if the route was going to be transferred to the county. I got this reply today, finally:

Quote
Dave, I’m not aware of any signing changes on KY 3303. If there is a sign down then it is in the process of being replaced. Thanks,

So this deserves some attention. The route is so short, it's entirely possible all traces of signage could have been removed by vandals or a careless driver. Vespertine, any chance you will be returning to the area in the future (but not too soon) to check whether the signs have been replaced? It won't likely fit into my plans for the rest of this year. Maybe next year, depending on my work schedule.

And to make things even more interesting, I checked with District 6 regarding KY 2405, and got this:

Quote
Our traffic support section will review and install route markers for the route to clarify its designation.

Sincerely,

Nancy Wood

Public Information Officer

District 6 Office

That one will be easier for me to check out, but I would appreciate updates from anyone else who may be in the area later this year.

KY 2405 is signed, and has been added (https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/pull/4354).

KY 3303 was deleted a while ago. I received a followup from District 9 and they confirmed that the road was no longer in the state system.
