gufn was activated on 2016-03-31. gufd was promoted to preview on 2019-08-26. Wikipedia reports about a 2018 change for national roads but it was only edited in 2021. For instance, N3+N4 seem to be departement roads now:
Quote
RN3 to Dégrad des Cannes, the main harbour, and RN4 to Cayenne – Félix Eboué Airport became departmental routes in 2007, and merely retain the name.

N5:
Seems to be D11 now, see OSM, GM and wikipedia D route list

N2001 (Sinnamary):
Does it exist? It's fully concurrent to D21 right now! It's indicated on GM but not on OSM nor signed at N1.
wikisara says:
Quote
Il semblerait que la RN2001 (973) corresponde aussi à un délaissé de la RN1 (973) dans la traversée de Sinnamary depuis 1999.
What do "semblerait" and "délaissé" mean in this context? Is it just wild guess?

Please check the N routes first. I'll peer-review the D routes subsequently.

Edit: délaissé -> semblerait

It was a 2008 change, with a supplimental change in 2016 when the Collectivité Territoriale was created. That's a general DOM-TOM thing whereby National Government has dropped almost all overseas N roads and handed them over to the departments. Signs are still red cartouches and so there's no easy way of knowing that N3 is a different system to N1. And as we have a separate gufn system rather than having them as part of fran, it is already ambiguous as to whether this a national system dealt with in Paris, or a regional system deal with in Cayenne...

The Collectivité Territoriale government of Guyana consider the N1-N4 (and only them) as primary roads.

OSM has it as 'RN' and 'N3'. GM as nothing (and routed closer to the Maroni river). Both, and Wikipedia and Wikisara have D11 terminating at Saint-Jean-du-Maroni. https://carto.geoguyane.fr/1/Observatoire_economie.map has it as a secondary route numbered 'NC' (same as with the N2001 Kourou).

Wikisara says, of this road
"It was built from 2004 by the Guyana Region , which is the contracting authority. This institution is not empowered to manage roads and has therefore planned to classify this axis as RN5 . Its status and precise numbering remain unknown to this day even though it is now managed by the Territorial Collectivity of Guyana ."

Deleting, but keeping file

It's D21.

That leaves N2001 (Kourou). Deleting and keeping file on that.

Source?

I didn't check any official site but only:
  • wikisara (last relevant update from September 2011) indicates N1, N1BIS, N2, Ex-N3, Ex-N4, N5 and N2001. The external sources are no longer available under the link. The orange "Les routes nationales en Guyane (973)" box below only indicates N1 and N2 as actual national routes.
  • wegenwiki (last relavant update from April 2014) only indicates N1 and N2. Others as formerly national routes.
  • English wikipedia (many updates in 2021) indicates N1 and N2 as national road, N3 and N4 as departmental roads (became departmental routes in 2007, and merely retain the name).
  • French wikipedia only indicates bus services no 1 to no 7 ;)
  • https://carto.geoguyane.fr/1/Observatoire_economie.map indicates N1, N2 and N4 as route primaire.

Unforunately, I'm not able to make anything visible on the map and I'm not sure how "official" and up-to-date the site is :(

I think we should remove N3 from gufn and I also tend to remove N4 from gufn system if we don't find any reliable source.

Nonetheless, we want to review the gufd system: https://carto.geoguyane.fr/1/Observatoire_economie.map indicates D1, D2, D5, D7, D9, D11, D13, D19, D21 and NC as route secondaire but we have (much) more routes. Most routes are indicated on OSM or GM but not all. D54 is not indicated on OSM nor GM and GSV is not available for GUF. Which source do we want to use for D routes?
And what the heck is NC? Can we get it visible on the carto.geoguyane.fr map?

Edit: I forgot uploading the pics, done now!
