I was looking through NDOT documents to prepare for a trip east tomorrow and I noticed that NV 121 east of Fallon has been demoted from a state route to a frontage road.
The 2023 NDOT log does not list it, nor does
NDOT GIS. What was "SR 121" is now "FRCH08", an unsigned "frontage road". GSV shows a couple of straggling signs, but as we know from other places around NDOT District 2 (cough...several roads in Reno), D2 has been known to leave shields posted for decades after a road is decommissioned.
I propose we drop NV 121 from the highway browser. No users have driven it at this time and NDOT does not recognize it as a current route in any of its logs. Including decommissioned NV 121 would imply that we need to include other decommissioned but still-signed routes, such as the southern part of NV 667 and the southern part of NV 430.
