MT: S-290 Belgrade

So since I had a PR in already for the MT 77 addition, I was looking around to see if there was any minor route cleanup elsewhere in MT that I could throw in. However, S-290 has a bit more than a "minor" issue. The HB still has the route as it was before the new Bozeman Airport entrance (I-90 Exit 299) and as such cannot be traveled anymore. Digging around, it seems that MDT rerouted S-290 along Airway Blvd to S-205, and that would be all fine and dandy but there's no signage for the reroute whatsoever. In fact, the only signage I could find for 290 was at the old south end at S-291... which now just dumps you into the Belgrade street grid with no good way to access the rest of 290. Should I adjust 290 to the Airway Blvd endpoint or to where MDT GIS says the signage ends north of the airport?

Additionally, S-205 isn't signed in Belgrade proper, with "TO 205" signs where reassurance shields rightfully should be. Not sure that's worth breaking the route given there's no real indication it's not 205 anymore, but it's something else to consider.

It should be noted with MDT inventorying that S-class roads never officially enter city limits. Within city limits the road will be U-class instead, but where applicable signed state secondaries continue down the U-class road for network continuity.

So go ahead ignore the "TO" on the 205 signs, it's there because of this inventorying quirk.


As for 290, if there are no signs for it other than a remnant pointing to what clearly is no longer part of the route, I'd say delete the whole thing since it's unsigned now.

That makes sense. If no one has any further objections, I'll remove 290.

Well there's another leftover sign for 290.

Yeah that doesn't change my prognosis on 290 since it still leaves zero signs on or pointing to the current route.
