AZ: I-10 Exit 257A
« on: August 10, 2023, 04:52:03 am »
Is this 'exit' really necessary?  No ramps to Saint Mary's Road, and everything around it are 'proper' interchanges with the normal 4 ramps for them.

Was there formally any ramps here?  If so, then should give it the * instead.

1996 aerial shows two 3/4 diamond interchanges in the locations of the 257 and 257A points, with each direction getting offramps in both places but an onramp only from the downstream crossroad. By 2003 the current configuration with 4 ramps at the location of exit 257 was in place.

So yeah, warrants a *, certainly. When both exits existed though, it probably would have been 257B, so hm... gotta mull over what's actually the correct label.
