MN: MN119 possible extension?

While driving on US212 in western MN a couple of days ago, I noticed a junction between US212 and MN 119.  This was curious because MN119 should not intersect US 212 at all, running as it does from MN40 to US12.  Upon scouting the area, I found the following:

1) From north to south, MN 119 is signed as it should be from US12 down to its official end at MN40.  There is an "End 119" sign at the junction with MN40.
2) MN 40, while officially heading west, actually travels due south for about five miles from the junction with MN 119.  There is no indication of anything unusual until you reach the point where MN40 turns back to the west.  At this point, where it intersects what used to be Lac Qui Parle county 25, there are signs for MN 119.
3) After turning on to this purported MN 119, there is at least one reassurance sign for MN 119.  The route then continues to its apparent end at US212.  Upon reversing direction, I noticed at least one reassurance sign heading north on purported new MN 119.

I haven't been able to find any reference to this change online.  I am not suggesting any changes should be made at this time, but it is probably worth keeping an eye on.

MnDOT taking over Lac Qui Parle CSAH 25 from MN 40 to Dawson was part of a recent jurisdictional transfer study, and one of a handful of cases from that study where it was recommended that MnDOT assume state ownership of a lesser route.  Doesn't surprise me that MnDOT would add it as a MN 119 extension, but I want to see something more official from MnDOT before I work the route.  Just like how I haven't changed MN 110 to MN 62 yet because MnDOT's already announced they won't switch the signs over until later this summer.

Found it.  A MnDOT press release from May.  Also relates to the MN 275 decommissioning.  To summarize...in return for the county taking over MN 275, MnDOT will take over what is now the MN 119 extension to Dawson.  MnDOT press release even mentions they're upping the speed limit on the extension to 60.  Did you see any of that on your trip?

I think the former CSAH 25 segment was posted at 60 mph, but I'm not 100% sure.  I was too focused on looking for MN119 signs (currently only one in each direction).

Sorry to resurrect this from the dead, but is there actually a concurrency with MN 40 along this? There doesn't appear to be signage for it, and there's still an "END 119" sign at the north MN 40 junction.

The signs may not show it, but MnDOT's GIS app and data clearly show a concurrency.  Leaving it as-is.
