KY HalRogPkwy extended east?

Per https://transportation.ky.gov/Planning/State%20Primary%20Road%20System%20Lists/Floyd.pdf, KY 80 east of Hazard was redesignated as HR 9006 on June 13, 2025. Could this be in preparation for truncating KY 80 (relating to the US 460 relocation)?

Knott County did the same thing, but no changes to Perry County, so I will check with District 10 & District 12. I don't plan on going down to confirm signage until the rerouting of US 460 is finished.

FWIW, I drove through Pikesville on Friday, on my way to snagging US 121 in Virginia. I didn't notice any change in KY 80 signage, including the part of KY 80 in Elkhorn City just before the Virginia state line.

Got replies from KYTC staff. Yes, the Parkway will be extended to US 23. Signage is coming, and once there's evidence of it I'll update the map. As for KY 80, no one was sure how that would be dealt with yet, but the District 12 person said he would investigate. Past the junction with 23 south of Prestonsburg, there's only a short segment (less than 7 miles) of 80 that's not concurrent with at least one other route.

The US 460 project is proceeding and the person I spoke with was hopeful it would be complete by the end of the year. He also confirmed that the former routing would be Alternate 460, and implied that Virginia would be using that designation as well.

Maybe the Kentucky part (mainly filling the gap between the two KY 3174 segments). Work on extending VA 460/US 121 to complete the connection to existing US 460 west of Grundy  is underway, but maybe overly optimistic to project a 2025 completion.

Considering that VDOT themselves doesn't expect completion to existing 460 until 2027...

I only spoke with KYTC staff so yes, I was referring only to the KY portion.
