Jason Hancock informed me of same. There was no DOT press release about it and I'm more than miffed. Any further elaboration would turn into a rant about the past three or so years of state governance.
FWIW, I see OSM has drawn in the future US 61 north from Mediapolis to north of IA 78. Those contracts are only being let in this fiscal year, so it's going to be a while yet. When it happens, the new OldUS61_Med will remain as a point between Mediapolis and points north, and the US 61 expressway will shift to an entirely new alignment.
