NC: NC11/42 Intersection With NC 903
« on: July 07, 2019, 10:45:01 am »
We took the scenic route back yesterday from a day trip to my hometown of Plymouth for a family get together.  On the way back, I took us on a straight shot on NC 903, connecting the dots between where it joins with NC 125 north of Robersonville all the way over I-95 to NC 48.  One thing I found when updating our list file is it seems that NCDOT has recently updated the intersection between NC 11/42 and NC 903.  That's based on some of the street and satellite views.  It seems like these roads used to do a straight intersection.  Maybe they had a lot of people running stop signs on I'm guessing NC 903.  Because there is now a little jog and NC 903 came to a stop sign, I turned left, and then went down less than a tenth of a mile, and then turned right to continue on NC 903 again.  As I was coming up to it, I could see what looked like the old road stub.  ESRI World Imagery still has the older view.  HERE Hybrid Day has the new view.

Look at the new intersection on Google Maps' satellite view.

So, there needs to be a new point added.  Looking at Google Maps, I got 35.989389, -77.242843.  The existing one is 35.988498, -77.244047.  All three roads will need it.
