CT 17 in Middletown
« on: April 03, 2022, 09:59:45 pm »
TM has CT 17 overlapping with CT 66 to Washington Street and then getting on CT 9 at exit 15, however the signage there (that install has since been replaced but the new signage says the same thing) all has it using exit 16 instead.  Should this be changed?

A shaping point on CT 17/CT 66 at the curve on past the west end of the Connecticut River Bridge may be useful as well.  On the east end, I am unsure if we really need a point at Lower Main St because it could be argued that it is a RIRO.

Should this be changed?
Yes.

https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/DOT/documents/dpolicy/policymaps/tru/pdf/082_tru.pdf
Washington Street is shown as SR 545.

Oddly, shapefiles show Washington as part of CT17, with Saint John's Square as a municipal rt.
Source appears to be TIGER / Census Bureau, not ConnDOT.
This likely showed up on Google back in 2009ish, explaining the routing in CHM.

A shaping point on CT 17/CT 66 at the curve on past the west end of the Connecticut River Bridge may be useful as well.
With the correction to CT17, mapview would look like hell without this. Added.
LowMainSt... Now I want Chinese food.

No more a RIRO than any other parclo, really. Added.

I have a couple concerns with what I see in Github.

CT 66:  Should WasSt maybe be WasSt_E?

CT 17:  HarAve>-CT66_W.

Wow, I've no explanation for that. Not even copy/paste.
