NC: US 301 and Other Various Point Requests and Concerns

I-85/US 601:  A point needs to be added for Exit 65.

US 15:
1.   A point should be added at Gate 2 Rd.  (direct connection to I-85)
2.   The shaping point northeast of HesRd should be replaced with a visible point at Sam Usry Rd.
3.   Unused alternate labels:  BUCKRD BURDRV CORRD GEIARD I-74 INDDRV MORRD NC1514 NC211 NC96 ROCKRD SANBYP SPRLANE US421/87BYP US421BUS/87

US 29:  MainSt_Kan should be slightly relocated. (with arguably a relabeled suffix)

US 301:
1.   OldUS301 should be HilBraRd (Hilly Branch Rd).
2.    The shaping point south of NC 71 should probably be replaced with a visible point at Green St (GreSt)
3.   US301Conn should be PemLn (Pembroke Ln).
4.   A shaping point should be added on I-95 at the Rhodes Pond Rd overpass to keep the line east of US 301 in Mapview.
5.   Wade should be WadeSetRd.
6.   It looks like CarDrv should be CliAve_N.
7.   It looks like the MainSt labels need to be reformatted like MainSt_Sha.
8.   NC43/NC48_S should be NC43/48.  NC48_N could just then be NC48 or left at NC48_N.
9.   BraCutRd should be BraCutLn (or made hidden).
10.   NC481Bus_E should be just NC481Bus.
11.   Consider replacing the shaping point north of WhiHillRd with a visible point at Washington Ave.
12.   Unused alternate labels:  DOBHOLMES I-95(40) I-95BUS I-95BUS_S NC46 NC903_E NC903_W US264A US264A/58

US 401:  Consider making the shaping point west of GilHillRd visible.

US 15 BUS (Durham)/US 501 BUS (Durham): I think a point should be added at the Cornwallis Rd on-ramp.

US 64 BUS (Wendell): The shaping point east of SmiRd should be replaced with a visible point at Morning Flyer Way (MorFlyWay).

US 301 BUS (Halifax):  The hidden shaping points should be removed.

NC/I-540:  66 (NC 540), 17 (I-540), and 20 (I-540) are off-center.

NC 3: 
1.  OldUS29Alt should be MainSt.
2.  I would change DaleEarBlvd (as much as I want the label to stay) to CenRd (Centergrove Rd) to get rid of any suffix debates.

NC 20:  Should Bar10miRd be shortened?

NC 46:
1.   I could personally use a point at River Rd (RivRd) from a long time ago when I went to a lake house on Lake Gaston on a church trip here.
2.   SR1212 should be OldGasRd (Old Gaston Rd).
3.   The NC186_W point should be slightly recentered.

NC 71: 
1.  FaySt should be FaySt_S. 
2.  Maybe replace the shaping point northeast of FaySt with McNSt (McNeill St).
3.  Adding the Leeper Rd point south of Future I-295 should be waited on until the realignment of Leeper Rd is complete.

NC 96:
1.  I am requesting a point at the Proctor Rd/Riley Hill Rd intersection northwest of US 64/US 264.  I ended up at this intersection after missing the US 64 BUS EB turn due to lack of posting and erroneous signage.
2.  CroSt should be CroSt_S.
3.  MainSt should be MainSt_E or CroSt_N.

NC 97:
1.   Is there a better label to use instead of US64BusWenZeb?  Obviously changing US64BusWen_W to US64BusWen and moving the US64BusWen_W label will break list files.  I am not sure about US64BusWen_ZebW.
2.   I am requesting a point at the Battleboro-Leggett Rd/Tree Farm Rd intersection as I did not travel any further on NC 97 due to the current Swift Creek bridge closure.

NC 122:  The shaping point between NC 97 and NC 125 should be removed.

NC 242:  The shaping point south of I-40 should be replaced with a visible point at Tarheel Rd (TarRd).

NC 481:  I-95(154) should be just I-95.

NC 481 BUS (Enfield): 
1.   I would change WhiSt to McFRd.
2.   It seems like SERaiSt has an essential prefix.

NC 751:
1.   LutRd needs to be slightly relocated.
2.   I do not think that the shaping point north of OKeChaRd is necessary.
3.   I-40(274) should be just I-40.
4.   A point should be added at Cornwallis Rd.  (direct connection to US 15/US 501 freeway)

Needed Changes:

NC 20:  BTMileRD should be BTMileRd.

Still recommend this change:

I-95:  A shaping point should be added on I-95 at the Rhodes Pond Rd overpass to keep the line east of US 301 in Mapview.

Otherwise:

NC 3:  Is there construction or something else happening on the west side of Kannapolis?  If that is the case, I really would not want to throw around further point revisions for now.  (I think it is this (behind a paywall)).  I also presume that mikeandkristie will redrive this when the widening is complete.

I will probably add any further minor point revisions I see in NC to this thread for the time being.  I have planned to clinch US 301 (and the Fayetteville area roads) as part of my return trip from Natchez, MS (which is getting more costly by the day).  I also plan to attend AJ's Outer Banks meet next month.

further changes made.

Per GMSV it appears the NC 3 project is on the same footprint as current NC 3 and no changes will be needed.

What happens when I reclick on the NC map...

For NC 3, you may have already made the following changes when I relooked at it.  A general shaping point relook at minimum west of Downtown Kannapolis is definitely worthwhile.

1. PineSt>-WatCriDr
2.  Add a visible point at Kannapolis Pkwy (KanPkwy).

For NC 73, KanPky should be KanPkwy.

For NC 73 TRUCK (Concord):  The end labels should be changed to NC73_W and NC73_E. (with the route flipped)  Maybe replace SheCt with nearby CenDr.  (the latter also affects US 29 and US 601)

For NC 49:

1.  MoreRd>-MorRd
2.  Replace the shaping point east of MorRd. (MainSt may not be the best location.)
3.  Maybe add Pharr Mill Rd and/or Stough Rd.  I am unsure if either or both are necessary.

NC 20:  ChiFordRd>-ChiRd or ChiFootRd

US 401 BUS (Fayetteville):  RamSt should be RamSt_S.

NC 96: 
1.  US301_W>-US301_S.  US301_E>-US301_N or US301/39.
2.  SumSt should be SumSt_S.

US 301: 
1.  Consider replace shaping points with visible points between US501/130 and RayRd.
2.  RedFoxRd>-ArbLn.
3.  GilSt>-GilSt_N.  (also affects I-95 BL (Fayetteville, NC))
4.  ParRd should be HodChaRd.
5.  NC242>-NC242_N
6.  RalRd could use a slight relocation.
7.  Should US701 be slightly relocated?  (also affects US 701 and NC 96)
8.  NC96>-NC96_N
9.  NC39>-NC39_N
10.  US264Alt>-US264Alt_W (may not be worth doing due to impending US 264 changes) 
11.  NC58>-NC58_N
12.  FirPky should be RosChuRd (Rosebud Church Rd).
13.  I think that ElmCityRd_N should be ParSt.  This would mean that ElmCityRd_S should be ElmCityRd.
14.  I think that SouHalRd should just be HalRd.

US 301 BUS (Rocky Mount, NC):  A point should be added at Airport Rd (AirRd) for access to NC 97.

US 64 ALT (Tarboro, NC):  NC43>-NC43_S.

US 158: 
1.  Consider replacing the shaping point east of MillPondRd with a visible point at ClayHillRd
2.  NC34_N>-NC34
3.  ForRd should be BayViewRd.
4.  AlbRd should be slightly relocated.
5.  WriMem could be WriMemDr.

US 264:
1.  US17 should be slightly recentered.
2.  NC92>-NC92_E.   
3.  I am requesting points at Jones Bridge Rd (west of Pungo Creek) and Free Union Church Rd (east of Pungo Creek) as US 264 is closed at Pungo Creek for a bridge replacement (if I had only understood that I truly needed to use NC 92 and NC 99 to Belhaven).
4.  US264BusBet>-US264BusBel_E or US264BusBel
5.  HodRd_B>-HodRd
6.  SR1311>-LakeRd
7.  It looks like JarRd should be GosBackRd (Goshen Back Rd).
8.  HydCtyAir could be AirRd.
9.  BayDrv>-BayDr.

US 264 BUS (Belhaven):  MainSt should be MainSt_S.

NC 12:
1.  Could I have a point at S Old Oregon Inlet Rd?  I know that I have been this far south in the past, and I cannot promise viewing the Bodie Island Lighthouse as part of the Outer Banks Meet.
2.  Is WilCir a viable point?
3.  Is OceBlvd the best label here?
4.  The second shaping point north of OceBlvd should become a visible point labeled OceBlvd_N.  (beyond that I will live any further shaping points to visible points heading north be fully on your discretion)

NC 400:
1.  The west end at US 64 should be relocated to be in the middle of both directions.
2.  EliIISHS should be renamed based on signage.

NC 92:  US17BusWas>-US17Bus.

NC 45: 
1.  Should Fry be renamed?
2.  Should OysCreSt be OysCreSt_S?

NC 345: 
1.  The shaping point between the two TheLn points should be a visible point at Tink Tillett Rd (TinkTilRd).
2.  The north end at US 64 could use a slight relocation.  (also affects US 64 BYP (Manteo))

NC 136: 
1.  I think that PopBraRd should be PopBraRd_S.
2.  The east end should be slightly relocated to the cul-de-sac.

NC 343: 
1.  This route should be flipped.
2.  Consider replacing the shaping point west of SanHookRd with a visible point at Milltown Rd.

US 17 BYP (Elizabeth City):  Should US17_S be 255?

I-95 BL (Fayetteville):  NC24>-NC24/210 (to match US 301)

US 158 BUS (Henderson):  Points should be added at Poplar Creek Rd, Tiny Broadwick Blvd, and Dabney Dr due to the roads having a direct connection to I-85.

US 1 BUS (Henderson):  US158Bus>-US158Bus_W

US 1 ALT (Wake Forest):  NC96_W>-NC96_N.  NC96_E>-NC96_S

US 64: 
1.  US19BusMur_S>-US19Bus.  (only one intersection with it)
2.  I could use a point right here at the east end of the new Davidson River Village Connector as the US 64/US 276 bridge over the Davidson River is currently closed due to roundabout construction.  Thankfully I was able to get a slight clinch of the area so that I could still clinch US 276 in full.

NC 110:  Consider replacing the shaping points with visible points.

NC 209: 
1.  Consider replacing the shaping points throughout the route with visible points.
2.  I-40(24)>-I-40.
3.  SR1168 should be WestRd.

NC 105:
1.  Consider replacing the shaping point west of US321/421Trk_N with a visible point. (also affects US 221 TRUCK (Boone))
2.  US321/221_N should be US321/221 or US221/321.

NC 16/NC 88:  Consider replacing the shaping point with a visible point.

NC 80/NC 226:  The US19E labels should be S and N instead of W and E.

NC 197:  Consider replacing the shaping point south of US19E_S with a visible point.

US 25:  US19Bus>-US19Bus_N (if US 19 BUS and US 25 are concurrent)

I-240:  I am not sure what 1A should be.

NC 112: 
1.  Consider replacing the shaping point southeast of US 19/US 23 with a visible point.
2.  Remove the shaping point east of SandHillRd.
3.  LarDr should probably be replaced with a better point slightly to the west.

US 19 BUS/US 23 BUS (Asheville):  Are these routes concurrent with I-26/I-240?

NC 81:  BilAve should be BilAve_N and moved here.

US 19 BUS (Weaverville, NC):
1.  WooHilRd>-NewStoRd.
2.  MainSt>-WeaBlvd.
3.  I am unsure whether the graph connection at US19_N is justified (or even at the right location).

US 19: 
1.  I recommend adding a point here for the Nantahala National Forest Recreation Area.  (also affects US 74) 
2.  DamRd is better replaced by a point here, but I am unsure what the road name is.  It may be an old alignment of US 19 so an OldUS19_XXX label may be useful. 
3.  BIA432 should be McCBraRd (McCoy Branch Rd)
4.  Consider replacing the shaping point east of US441Bus_S with a visible point at Washington Creek Rd (WasCreRd).  I do not know if this may affect tolerance to the northeast of here to the Blue Ridge Pkwy.
5.  Replace the shaping point west of CamCrkRd with a visible point at Frank Mahaffey Rd (FraMahRd).
6.  Consider replacing the shaping point west of US276_N with a visible point.
7.  GeoBraRd should be WigRd (Wiggins Rd).  (also affects US 23)
8.  Consider replacing shaping points with visible points between I-26 and US 19E/US 19W.
9. CreRd should be SwiLp (Swiss Loop).

NC 28:  Should this route be flipped?

US 276:  The US23Bus labels should be S and N instead of W and E.

US 178:  SR1140>-AikRd

US 23 BUS (Waynesville)/NC 215:  The US276 labels should be S and N instead of E and W.

US 421 TRUCK (Boone):  US321/221_S>-US321/221

US 221 TRUCK (Boone):  US321/421Trk_N should be US321/421Trk.  (also affects NC 105)

NC 184:  Is the north end of this route (labeled as BeeMtnPky which needs to be edited) at the correct location?

NC 194: US221Lin and US221Boo should be changed to at least reflect underscores. (then there is US221_A...)

NC 88: 
1.  NC194_N and US221_S could use a slight relocation.  (the latter also affects US 221 BUS (Jefferson))
2.  US221Bus_W>-US221Bus_S
3.  Consider replacing the shaping point west of NC16_E with a visible point.
4.  NC16_E should be NC16_S.

NC 16: 
1.  The US221 labels should be S and N instead of W and E.
2.  Consider replacing the shaping points north of US221_E with visible points.

US 221:  Is there a better point than HamLn to use west of NC113?

NC 10:
1.  Replace the shaping point west of 2ndAve with a visible point.
2.  2ndAve>-2ndAve_E

US 19E: 
1.  OldUS19E should be PhiCreRd (Phipps Creek Rd) or changed to reflect Cave River School Rd.
2.  AmiPkRd should be AmiParkRd and slightly relocated to the southwest.
3.  The shaping point south of MinSchRd should be replaced with a visible point at Powdermill Creek Rd (PowCreRd).  Also make sure the route does not go out of tolerance in this area.
4.  MinSchRd should be slightly relocated (or replaced by a better point nearby).

I-26 FUT (Asheville):  4A(I-240) should be 4A(240).

NC 78:  The shaping point should be replaced with a visible point at Hickory House Rd (HicHouRd).

NC 151:  Consider replacing some of the shaping points with visible points.

NC 28:  I think that this route should be flipped. 

NC 141:  Consider replacing some of the shaping points with visible points.

It looks like this file was not sent.  There is now a missing graph connection with US 64 and US 64 BYP (Manteo).

NC 3:  I see at least two shaping points that could become visible west of MainSt and east of KanPkwy.  The one south of WatCriDr is probably best if it was just removed.

Even though I did not see any changes south of US19E, to be fair, north of US 19E looks pretty good now with the exception of the UniPlaRd <-> PaiForkRd area and the SR1312 label that is probably not needed.

After relooking at the US 264 relocation, US 264 (for now) will not be relocated in Wilson itself.  This means that I think now that this change should be done.

Newer Comments:

US 70:  2ndSt should be slightly relocated west.

US 264 ALT (Wilson): DowRd>-DowSt

US 311:  NC14/87_N should be NC14/87. (or NC87/14 to match NC 770...)

NC 42:  You may as well add a point at Cleveland Rd west of I-40 now since there will be a interchange between I-40 and Cleveland Rd once the ongoing widening project is complete.

NC 55:  This route is still signed through Holly Springs as of June 10, 2022.  I will defer to you on changing the N/S labels to E/W on this and NC 55 BYP (Holly Springs).

This is because you only see an Exit 255 from US 17 NB; US 17 Byp SB has no Exit 255.  At the other end, both US 17 SB and US 17 Byp NB have an exit 264 at the north endpoint. The same is true for US 70 Byp Goldsboro
