PA: Should BetRossBri be Extended?
« on: August 20, 2022, 09:37:00 pm »
Now that the Aramingo Avenue connector is open northbound (indeed, it's currently the only option for northbound traffic not exiting at Richmond Street since the I-95 ramps are closed for construction), should the usasf route for the Betsy Ross Bridge be extended from I-95 to Aramingo Avenue?

Yes, I agree that I need to extend it. The western end looks a bit tricky because it looks like you will not be able to access the Betsy Ross Bridge from Aramingo Ave but only from Adams Ave.  (See map here:  https://95revive.com/project-areas/bsr-bri-betsy-ross-bridge-thru-bridge-street/bsr-bri-overview/)

(and great catch Valerie, I had not even thought about extending it.)

Anyway, here is my tentative way to do this (which also includes a slight relocation of the I-95 point) done locally here:  https://github.com/Markkos1992/HighwayData/pull/350

PA/NJ http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=39.984688&lon=-75.065702

I'll leave this open for comment for about a week or so.

I'll object.
One can go from the Betsy Ross bridge to Aramingo Ave. However the ramp/road from Adams doesn't appear to be completed yet.
Until that part is finished, I see no reason to extend PA/NJ 90 west of I-95.

I am thinking of this as similar to what I did with PA 576 since one direction is open (https://forum.travelmapping.net/index.php?topic=4088.msg22095#msg22095).

There is precedent for one-way sections of routes to be included in TM.

The points listed above make sense considering the ramp layout.
Looks like a form of "misbehaving parclo" with one of the loop ramps partially composed of a local street.

If they are duel one way couplets, yes.
There is no couplet, west of I-95 (as of yet).

No, even if the route can only physically be driven in one direction. See for example:
https://travelmapping.net/hb/showroute.php?units=miles&u=duke87&r=co.fallrivrd
https://travelmapping.net/hb/showroute.php?units=miles&u=duke87&r=me.parklprd
https://travelmapping.net/hb/showroute.php?units=miles&u=duke87&r=ny.ny878
etc.

And this isn't even truly one-way, since you CAN drive the AraAve to I-95 segment eastbound... you will then just be forced to exit onto I-95.

I think it's fair game to go ahead and extend.
