The academic offshoot of the Travel Mapping project is called METAL: Map-Based Educational Tools for Algorithm Learning.

Details about METAL are available at https://courses.teresco.org/metal/ .  Its main features are a set of graph data files derived from Travel Mapping data (https://travelmapping.net/graphs/) and the Highway Data Examiner (https://courses.teresco.org/metal/hdx) which provides interactive algorithm visualizations on that data.

This discussion board will be used for project announcements.  Questions and other discussion about the project are also welcome here.
