SVN: G9 or R454?
« on: November 06, 2023, 12:28:38 pm »
I wrote a long post but think that I found a solution while writing. I'm posting it as source for my solution finding :D

An official source from December 2022 (pisrs.si = Legal Information System of the Republic of Slovenia) indicates that there is still a G9 route which should have been downgraded when the parallel A4 was opened back in late 2018.

Quote
G9 Draženci (Ptuj) – Gruškovje from AC A4 to AC A4, length: 12.940km

That's from near A4's exit 5 to the Croatian border.

R454 does end at A4's exit 4 according to the list:

Quote
R454 Miklavž – Hajdina AND Zlatoličje – A4 from G1 to AC A4, length: 21.290km

GM does not indicate G9 nor R454 from (east of) A4's exit 5 to the Croatian border.
OSM is indicating R454. However, the road number was only added in July 2023. No source is indicated in the change history.

The road is partially covered by September 2021 GSV. We can spot a lot of R454 km posts:
- North of exit 7
- South of R689
- Just north of the border to Croatia

R454 km posts are also visible on 2019 GSV but not on earlier GSV, e.g. June 2018, i.e. before the A4 opening.

The segment between exit 7 and R689 is only covered by June 2019 GSV. There are also R454 km posts:
- Between exit 7 and R689
- Between exit 7 and R689

However, this segment has a road number on GM, namely R689.

The December 2022 list does also have this as R689:
Quote
R689 Podlehnik – Žetale – Rogatec from G9 to R432, length: 19.034km

The 19km would be all the way up to A4's exit 7. That's how we have it in HB now: https://travelmapping.net/hb/showroute.php?r=svn.r689&lat=46.317296&lon=15.868807&zoom=13

I've reworked all TM routes for Slovenia in the last days. I think that the pisrs.si list is quite reliable, i.e. generally confirmed by OSM and recent GSV images.

So, should I go with 2019/2021 GSV? Should I go with the pisrs.si list from December 2022? Should I go with the July 2023 OSM update which mainly confirms 2019/2021 GSV?

Solution:
- R689 is routed through Stanošina while R454 is via the bypass: https://maps.app.goo.gl/wbaVsg5WGLvfbXyR7
- There is another official map indicating R454 all the way where G9 should be: https://www.dars.si/Interaktivni_zemljevid It also indicates R689 through Stanošina
