AR: AR137S (Armorel) and AR 917-1 decommissioned
« on: December 21, 2024, 02:09:32 pm »
For AR 137S, I went by the route a few months ago and noticed that there weren't any shields on it. I didn't get any pictures from the road itself, and the GSV imagery isn't recent enough to show this change, but I drove by where the route would have intersected both AR 137 and AR 18.

The arrow is still present, but I didn't see any AR 137S shields on the route. The ARDOT county map reflects this as well.

For AR 917-1, I drove by this about a year ago and unfortunately didn't get any pictures myself, but more recent GSV imagery has reflected this change.

Deleted AR917-1 a couple weeks ago.
Held off on 137S because what should the waypoints be renamed?
On AR137, CRN919 could work, even if it only refers to the opposite side of the intersection, that's not Old AR137S.
But we can't guarantee that designation's extended all the way down to AR18.

Waypoints for roads that no longer have a name or no longer exist as a road
Doesn't apply -- road still exists; most likely has a name, just unknown.
https://travelmapping.net/devel/manual/wayptlabels.php#useposted most likely applies, but again, the name is unknown.

Maybe we wanna fall back on https://travelmapping.net/devel/manual/wayptlabels.php#nearbytown and go with Arm for Armorel?

Seems it might have kept the same name, per the USPS website.
