We're depreciating that system slowly, rather than adding to it (hence why future I-87 in NC is just the bit that was the older future I-495, why future I-42 doesn't exist at all, why future I-74 doesn't continue down NC74, etc). The only changes being done to that system is the removal of routes when they become interstate.

Certainly for the southern section it's clear where the endpoints are. For the northern section, though, there's the issue of exits 69 to 74 not being I-57 on Arkansas' state map because the bridge doesn't meet the no farm vehicles criteria.
