New Zealand State Highways (nzlsh) + Tourist Routes (nzltr)
« on: August 29, 2019, 03:45:47 pm »
I'll peer-review the systems later this year but I'm also happy when anyone else has some comments on it: http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?sys=nzlsh and http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?sys=nzltr

@Si: What are your sources for the route list?

Concurrencies:    See subsequently

wikipedia check:  See subsequently

Is the concurrency of "AucNWMot, SH16, SH18, TCDR and UppHarMot" west of Auckland really intended? It's just a very short overlapping.

Thanks for fixing the issues. A lot of concurrencies to other routes are broken now. I hold off with continuing peer-review till they are synced again.

I believe most of the broken stuff is the tourist routes, I'm halfway through fixing them (just felt it was easier to break them temporarily and fix them today, than to try and remember where all the concurrencies are), so hopefully it will be fine by tomorrow.

Route is closed between Ashhurst and Woodville since 2017, please refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_State_Highway_3#Future_improvements
Quote
The highway through the Manawatu Gorge between Ashhurst and Woodville was closed in April 2017 due to a large slip, with SH 3 traffic diverted via Saddle Road. Contractors were pulled out of clearing the slip in July 2017 due to ongoing geological movement in the hill, closing the road indefinitely. The NZTA is fast-tracking a long-term solution to bypass and replace the gorge, although it is not expected to be in place before 2023.

wikipedia mentions "Foothills Scenic Route". Why is it missing? Found this: http://webenz.com/foothills-scenic-route/ It's paritally concurrent to Inland Scenic Tourist Route.

Because this was off the obvious line, I double checked the route. It wasn't the obvious straight path (but also not this point). Rerouted through the town here.

The latter two have no intersection with SH5, as the Thermal Explorer Highway is concurrent with it. Keeping as is.

Unlike the others it's not signed. And that description isn't partially concurrent with the Inland Scenic Tourist Route / RR72 - it basically is the same thing (just mentioning some places slightly off the highway, and routes that get back quicker). Therefore I won't include it - it's just an alternative name for the ISTR.

If you can have a quick look before you go away that everything is cromulent, then I can activate these after I get back.

The site reports:

This route is well signposted and its difficult to get lost, the suggestions are that you have a map and full tank of gas and there are fuel stops at Amberley and Geraldine.
But it's fine when you say it isn't. I had not accept it if you had only omit it because it's concurrent

If you can submit the pull request on time, I'll check it. I'll start my trip Tuesday morning but won't do much for TM on Monday. I plan to add two new regions and thousands of TM miles.....

I hope you'll add some to the beln thread by late October :)

It's well signposted as the Inland Scenic Tourist Route, or RR72, sure. But not as the Foothills Scenic Route!

Guessing Ukraine and Moldova? I can't imagine you'd do only two of Kosovo, Serbia and Montenegro given how close they all are. I doubt you'd do Russia, Belarus or Crimea. And the others are all islands.

Though if you are heading NW towards Man/Jersey/Faroes/Iceland, and end up in my neck of the woods, do say!

Yes, my bad. I did only rely on the site first.

No, I do the unexpected :D I (only) wanna clinch two systems, re-clinch one system and I wanna almost complete another five systems.
Completing rksr does only make sense when heading to MKD and returning via ALB because of the Serbian border issues (don't enter Kosovo from Serbia without returning from Kosovo to Serbia).

The year is not yet over :) I think I have to spend a night or two near London to clinch gbnm and gbnam.... but a no deal BREXIT might change my plan. But always expect the unexpected :)

I've not checked whether you've considered all my suggestions. but there are still minimum two issues and also a NMP pair to be marked FP. Concurrencies look fine now. Both systems should be good enough for activation when the data errors are fixed (or marked FP).
