NC: New I-295 segment opening

Segment between Cliffdale Rd and US-401 Raeford Rd will be opening to traffic tomorrow, August 19.

The US-401 exit will be #12.

And it will be posted as I-295, NOT NC-295.

The signs for the new Raeford Road segment, as well the segment that opened last fall, say “Interstate 295.” The Federal Highway Administration has allowed NCDOT to designate the entire Outer Loop as I-295. The department eventually will replace the older “N.C. 295” signs with ones baring the interstate shield.

extended I-295FutFay and is in the queue.

I also added it to NC 295, though at some point I can delete NC 295 and add it as an alt label to Fut I-295 (and eventually actual I-295).

I agree.  It's I-295 now, not NC-295 anymore.

I held off on the submitted updates to the NC 295 and Future I-295 files pending agreement that this should now be only I-295 in usai.
