NC: US-17/NC-24/NC-53 issue in Jacksonville
« on: February 28, 2021, 02:45:22 pm »
It seems that the 'current' US17Bus_S point on US-17 should be in a different location.  To me, it seems like that area is two separate functional interchanges instead since US-17 can't access the point were it's currently located & the US-17Bus/NC-24/NC-53 being a full interchange itself.

If it was me, this is how I would do this area: (MonLanRd also recentered below)
nc.us017:
Code: [Select]
US17Bus_S http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.739902&lon=-77.460630
NC24/53_W http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.739999&lon=-77.451725
+x55 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.730433&lon=-77.428851
MonLanRd http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.743658&lon=-77.413155
NC24/53_E +NC24_E http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.747299&lon=-77.408316

nc.nc024:
Code: [Select]
US17Bus http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.745007&lon=-77.457175
US17_S http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.739999&lon=-77.451725
+x115 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.730433&lon=-77.428851
MonLanRd http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.743658&lon=-77.413155
US17_N http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.747299&lon=-77.408316

nc.nc053:
Code: [Select]
US17Bus http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.745007&lon=-77.457175
US17_S http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.739999&lon=-77.451725
+x100 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.730433&lon=-77.428851
MonLanRd http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.743658&lon=-77.413155
US17_N http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.747299&lon=-77.408316

nc.us017busjac:
Code: [Select]
US17_S http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.739902&lon=-77.460630
NC24/53 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.745007&lon=-77.457175

This would require an update entry for nc.us017busjac due to the extension down to it's proper end.  It would gain about .4 miles that way.

I recommend changing the US17Bus_S label on US 17 to US17BusJac_S; however, this is not a high priority since there are not duplicate label errors.

EDIT: Edited post while looking at the changes in this thread
