OH: OH 84, OH 174, OH 113, and OH 254 Termini
« on: August 15, 2021, 06:32:30 pm »
OH 84: This route does not seem to be signed west of the eastern end of its US 6 concurrency.  Should it be truncated?

OH 174:  Was this truncated to the south end of the US 20 concurrency?  I saw no signs referencing it at the US 20/OH 640 intersection.

OH 113/OH 254:  It looks like OH 254 follows Detroit Rd east of US 6/OH 2 to end at US 6 ALT/US 20/OH 113.  It also looks like OH 113 may have been truncated to the latter intersection as well.

(According to what I see in attempting to look at the SLDs, OH 84 and OH 174 should not be changed.  I am still unsure about OH 113 and OH 254.  If anyone that understands the Ohio DOT SLDs better than me can check on these, please do so.)

Have any interest in hosting a roadmeet in........lets say.......Cleveland? I hear the 28th of this month is available (unless covid does us all in).

Hahaha.  I was already planning to attend and was wondering if some of this may be considered by the itinerary.

Maybe.....  8)
In the meantime, instead of nitpicking Ohio, how about assembling state routes for Mississippi? That will keep you busy, and if you have questions, those who know that state will be more than happy to reply.

^I'm mainly sorting out the minor label issues from the more major issues right now.  I am planning to hold onto other comments for later.

I just wish that Ohio did not have so many useless concurrencies of which some I am unsure are there or not when I drive them.

There is nothing to sort. If you see a state marker then you will get credit for that route, and any other that is underneath it. Unless there is mileage to add, or subtract, from the system, your energy will be unfulfilled.

Mapcat already asked you to stop. I'm asking you to direct your energy towards more fruitful projects on here.

Haven't really said anything about this up to this point, but I'd really agree with this. Let me just say I'm glad that Markkos1992 isn't looking at Washington's state routes; I already know those are bad (e.g. lots of waypoints on minor roads rather than major arterial roads) and I'm planning on launching a big cleanup effort for Washington in the near future (hopefully in September).

Don't get me wrong, I don't think that him reviewing routes is necessarily a bad thing, but his efforts could better spent on reviewing systems that aren't activated yet.

compdude, I do not expect myself to look very much at WA stuff anyway.  I have no plans to be out there any time soon.  I am just hoping to get to Arizona next month.

I am open to reviewing other systems (as I have done with Puerto Rico), but that discussion should be had in another thread and not here.

It's great to have someone who appears to care so much about this site, but when more than one of the people who maintain the various systems ask nicely for you to dial it back, it might be a good idea to heed their advice.

I think there is a case to be made that I have made this site an idol, which is not a good thing at all.

Something I have had to remind myself a lot is that we do not make money doing this, which is why I try not to pester people over getting items done.  I get annoyed of that enough at my real job, and I never want to put that burden on any of you.

Changes made to 84, 174, 113, and 254 to be consistent with signage, regardless of what SLDs say. https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/pull/5078

I need to examine the routing of Alt US 6 more closely and may reconfigure the OH 2/US 6/US6 Alt junction. Seems to be two interchanges instead of just one.
