WI: Wisconsin alternate routes
« on: September 18, 2021, 02:31:54 pm »
I looked at the US Auxiliary route listings in Wisconsin and saw that US-2 Alt in Ashland is there. Why is this route in there, but not others like US-53 Alt in the Eau Claire area or US-18/151 Alt south of Madison? Google seems to be recognizing these routes fwiw.

Edit: "WI:" added to subject

ALT US 2 in Ashland is an official bannered US route.  The US 53 and US 18/151 examples are more like Wisconsin's "ALT Interstate" routes...to serve as an emergency detour in the event of an incident on the freeway.  Like the "Emergency Detour" routes that MnDOT posts.
