MN: US14 between Owatonna and Dodge Center

The stretch of US14 between Owatonna and Dodge Center Minnesota has finally been opened to traffic after over a year of construction. MN56 and US14 Business have also been rerouted to match the newly constructed US14 freeway.

I am also planning a trip to Seattle soon and on my way home I planned on taking US14 through this area, I will update/follow-up if necessary.

I would appreciate closed-intersection points at either end of the new route (*54thAve and *635thSt, maybe?).

Now if only while signing that, MnDOT would see fit to end US 218 where it junctions 14 instead of midway between exits.

I just drove the new stretch, the freeway is complete and all exits/entrances are open in both directions.

MN56 was signed at the exit along US14, however there are no longer any US14 Business signs or shields in the area. Both on and off the freeway I could find no indicators that US14 Business has a western endpoint at US14. However, when I drove up MN56, I did see a sign for US14 Business where it leaves MN56 and heads into Dodge Center. It appears as though, in terms of signage at least, US14 Business only runs between MN56 and US14 east of town.

Sadly, I could not get any pictures as it was dark out and I was already in a rush to get home.

Since it was dark, you might not be able to answer, but did you see anything where 56 crosses now-old-14?  Was old 14 still open or closed?

As a matter of fact, I do remember. Old US14 was open exclusively to the west, closed to the east. Unfortunately I did not bother traveling along old US14.

Interesting.  East being closed is no surprise since that leg of now-old-14 is supposed to be realigned to tie into CR H.  But I'm surprised west is still open as the plan is to reestablish the pre-Dodge-Center-bypass connection and directly tie old 14 from Claremont into CSAH 34.

Finally got around to submitting this today.  Took Jeff's suggestion for closed points at either end of the relocation...one of these also affects MN 56.  Also, based on Ib3kii's comments, truncated the business route to MN 56 since there's no indication it extends to the new US 14 alignment.

Shouldn't MN56_N then just be MN56 and US14_E be just US14 on US14BusDod?

Also on US 14, CR25_Dod>-US14BusDod or US14Bus (since it is the only one).
