NV 8A
« on: June 29, 2022, 06:55:37 pm »
So I'm at the east end of CA 299 right now, and NV 8A still has a shield up at the border o.0

(I recommend 'no build' so I don't have to clinch it...)

NV 8A is posted by Washoe County and the shields are maintained, but it is unofficial as far as the state is concerned and functionally equivalent to a county route. NV 34 is a similar deal.

Many moons ago that road actually was NV 8A, but it has been off the state highway system since 1976.

So yeah, no build is correct here: it's CR 8A, Washoe County has at least that one state outline sign for it (dunno if there are others) out of what we may presume to be cultural inertia, though you may note it is not quite on spec for an actual state shield.
