OH: International Gateway (Columbus)

If you're going to add Berea Freeway, what about International Gateway, in our backyards?
It is freeway standard from Cassidy Ave to Sawyer Rd (or whichever designation you want to use for the loopback between the rental lot & the terminal)
I think it gets just over the 1 mile threshold, if you start at Cassidy instead of I-670/US 62.

The whole thought of counting Berea Freeway as clinched was debatable IMO, but I thought I got close enough on both sides of I-480 to count it.

With this stretching just to get the length over 1 mile (which is much shorter than the typical usasf or cansf route), we seem to be getting far away from keeping U.S. Select Named Freeways a "select" system.

I expect Mapcat to shoot this down. But, I'll argue he set the precedence with adding Berea Fwy. (which I don't recall anyone asking to be added, just for the 3/4 mile between Oh 17 & I-71.  South of Oh 17, its already in the system as Oh 237)

I was excited to see Berea Freeway added! It let me close a small gap in my network.

But we really should avoid adding more routes. There is only so much room on the Internet, and we must be close to running out of that room.

I added it when I reconfigured the OH 17/237 junction, which reminded me that it closed a gap in the I-71/I-480 interchange. I'm not certain that International Gateway serves a similar purpose. Granted, neither does the freeway to the Dayton airport, but it's longer.

What purpose is it suppose to serve?

There are routes with high importance to travelers which do not belong to any highway system. These are routes which are maintained by local authorities, are privately owned, or belong to systems which are extensive and not yet included to the project. Travel Mapping categorizes these routes to an own Travel Mapping highway system if possible. These systems are called Select because they cannot be considered being complete. We only include routes which the highway data manager of the region considers being relevant.

We've always given significant deference to whomever maintains a particular region as to what should be included and what should not. Mapcat decided to add the Berea Fwy and not to include International Gateway. He has given his reasons and since he maintains Ohio, that should be the end of the story.
