Stupid related question...why does SC US 176 have points named I-85(72) and I-20(65) rather than I-85 and I-20?

When the US routes were drafted I believe all interstate junctions were formatted that way in several states.

They’ve been slowly cleaned up over time in states I maintain.

I think the I-585 exit number change is doable now based on changes to the manual.  (https://travelmapping.net/devel/manual/wayptlabels.php#parentexitnumbers)
