If it's added, it would be the only US route bypass in the state, so I'm aware of nothing nearby to compare to it. Like James said, it's not even signed from 71, so it seems less like a posted route and more like a statement to motorists on I-49 that they'll get another chance to exit onto 71 on the other side of town. But I'm not totally opposed if there's a significant demand for it, especially if similar situations exist elsewhere.
