IN: I-65 North End

I don't recall if we had a topic on this or not, but heading up there, INDOT has end signage at the ramps to I-90 (as in where the 262A point is).  Both the "ends in 1 mile" and the actual one agree on that.  This matches the FHWA GIS data.  Looking at the corresponding point on I-90, it should probably be moved to the double trumpet in any case, since that's how we do the Turnpike interchanges.

Looks like we might want to revive this discussion.

They added 'enhanced' MM's for 262 @ US-12/20's intersection.

Thanks.  I could have sworn it came up but didn't see it in a search.

Between this and I-490, it seems like we're being inconsistent with how we're handing points at things like connectors and double trumpets.

The INDOT Road Inventory says the segments between Exits 261/262 and US 12/20 are connectors, not part of the interstate. No need to extend it.
Maybe the info has changed since mapcat's post, but it pretty clearly looks like it goes to US12/20.

WRT I-90's exit 17 point positioning, this is another symptom of what I'd call.. too much emphasis (using my polite words again) on graph connections.

I drove that way in May. The way the signage is makes it seem like I-65 goes to 12/20. I would support connecting I-65 to 12/20 and moving the exit 17 point to the trumpet interchange.

There is an enhanced mile marker and reassurance signage right at the southbound "ramp" from US 12/20 to I-65.

I looked at the inventory, and it looks like INDOT is labeling that segment I-65, at least partially. In any case, signage confirms it. 262 and 262A points are combined. The graph connection with I-90 is lost (and unnecessary IMO).

If you've been to the end, your final waypoint is US12/20.

I personally would also recommend recentering the point on I-90 as well back at the interchange overpass for the ramps where it was previously, but that's just me. :)

Not sure what you mean. I didn't move that point.

He means to move the point on I-90 for that interchange to the trumpet to be consistent with the other toll road interchanges.

This.  This was where the point was previously before the graph connection with I-65 was made back in 2021.
