Should there be a point on the A2 for the 'Rochester Way' partial interchange (between 'A102/A207' & 'A2213_S')?
Yes, don't know how I missed that.
It was the historical end of the A102(M) before they extended the A2 to connect to it.
No it wasn't. It was where what they built at that time (Apr 1969) ended - at the A2. Contemporary maps show it as an unnumbered road. The A2 was rerouted onto it at some point in the 3 years between the scheme opening and motorway status being given to the section north of Sun-in-the-Sands (given Dec 1970, but not applying until Mar 1972). The lack of motorway status is odd, because the section in question was also meant to be part of Ringway 1. I guess it was easier to just leave it as vanilla A2 until they worked out the Dover Radial Motorway.
The A2 Rochester Way Relief Road that provided continuous high-quality route from the Blackwall Tunnel to east Kent opened in 1988 - 16 years later, and 12 before the motorway status was (possibly not?) removed.
Looks like there's also a missing interchange at Arbuthnot Lane (between A221 and A223).
No it's just a LILO near an overbridge. Added anyway (Upton Road)
