tursf: Turkey Select Freeways
« on: October 23, 2023, 01:24:07 pm »
The system is in preview now since it comprises some former turo routes which are unsigned: https://travelmapping.net/hb/?sys=tursf
Learn more about the background in this thread.

I'll check Turkey for more routes to be included in the coming days or weeks.
Feel free to suggest further routes.

The minimum criteria is a grade-separated dual carriageway with minimum one interchange on the route it connects to another freeway.

The system has 19 routes for 115km now. It is ready for a peer-review.

Need to consider the O31 change.

I would start with the review:

TUR AvcHarBag:
OSM shows exit numbers. They are not signed though, but it's maybe better to name the junctions with the number? Alternatively, the main junctions have also a name (Kavşağı in Turkey), like Haramidere Kavşağı, Esenyurt Kavşağı, Bahçeşehir Esenyurt Kavşağı).  Can also remain like it is though. The remark is valid for most of the other routes too.

TUR BuyBayBag:
I don't really see the point of it, as it is concurrent with the D100.

TUR BuyYolu:
DinSok is a little off.

TUR CimBag
fine

TUR GorBagYolu
fine

TUR HabHasBag
it seems that it is signed as O-7. The name is also the same (Kuzey Marmara Otoyolu). Maybe we should integrate it in the motorway system as a variant of the O-7?

TUR HasOkmBag
fine

TUR HavKav
fine

TUR KomBag
fine

TUR KurPenBag
fine

TUR KuzCevYolu
fine

TUR MetEseBag
extend at south end? the freeway continues for some kilometers, until Davutpasa Caddesi.

TUR O1
extend at eastern end to Bagdat Caddesi? OSM shows this exit as K15.

TUR AvcHarBag:

I've experienced that those numbers on OSM are often not confirmed on signs in Turkey.
I don't recall that other wp labels used junction names (are they even signed?) when reviewing the turo system last year.
I'd like to keep it as-is.

TUR BuyBayBag:
I don't really see the point of it, as it is concurrent with the D100.

D100 is unsigned. Routing is not concurrent to O1 but it's on a different route in Asia. I don't know where it would diverge from BuyBayBag. Thus, I've deleted the unsigned European segment from HB last year: https://forum.travelmapping.net/index.php?topic=5150.msg29344#msg29344

Code: [Select]
2023-10-22;Turkey;D100 (Çorlu (Europe));tur.d100cor;New Route (split off from main route)
2023-10-22;Turkey;D100 (Asia);tur.d100;Route truncated at west end from Bulgarian border to O1's east end in İstanbul (partially Büyükçekmece Bayrampaşa Bağlantısı now)
2023-10-22;Turkey;D100 (Asia);tur.d100;Route reextended at new west end from O1's east end in İstanbul to Harem Kavşağı

TUR BuyYolu:
DinSok is a little off.

Fixed.

TUR HabHasBag
it seems that it is signed as O-7. The name is also the same (Kuzey Marmara Otoyolu). Maybe we should integrate it in the motorway system as a variant of the O-7?

Source? OSM and GM are crap there. I've really spent a lot of time to clarify the numbering last year. I could not find any evidence that it is signed. GSV does only have some pre-opening 2021 images from a user. I didn't find any video indicating O-7. There is still no updated GSV.

TUR MetEseBag
extend at south end? the freeway continues for some kilometers, until Davutpasa Caddesi.

I didn't do it since the name on OSM is changing. OSM only indicates the adjacent segment to the next interchange as "trunk" (access-controlled?), the rest as vanilla "primary". You see the different colors.
The "primary" segment is really substandard with sidewalks and parking: https://maps.app.goo.gl/HutFuXxocX5QbLwU8

TUR O1
extend at eastern end to Bagdat Caddesi? OSM shows this exit as K15.

Unsigned. I've truncated it last year: https://forum.travelmapping.net/index.php?topic=5150.msg29344#msg29344

Code: [Select]
2023-10-22;Turkey;İstanbul 1. Çevre Yolu;tur.o001;Route truncated at east end from exit 15 to 14
OSM nor GM indicate any name. Thus, if we'd want to include it to tursf as own route, we had to make up a name. I'd not do it.

TUR SileYolu
New WP at exit between SirCelBul and O7

Added.

TUR YeniRivaYolu
not really a freeway, has 2 at grade intersections, but it can remain in the system if you want to keep it.

One. SogCd. The other one is at the end of the route. I could delete it if you want.

Say if it's fine to you or if I should change anything before activation. After activation, the system will be yours anyway, since you are the maintainer.

I've made a quick check on mapview and added some wps for (new?) interchanges to D140 north of Ankara and D715.
I found a little more but that's your business. I'll report them in the updates forum.
