QC: Another QC 185 (A-85?) relocation
« on: June 23, 2024, 10:34:53 pm »
Another phase of the project to complete Autoroute 85, Section 5, is reportedly now open to traffic.

The post on the AARoads forum includes a link (video?) which as a non-Facebook user I can't open. It may include details such as whether the new freeway segment is signed as A-85, or as part of QC 185 since there are still gaps between Section 5 (and adjacent Section 6, already in the HB) and the existing A-85 segments. There may also be a new interchange on Section 5. The MTQ website might also have more info, once I have time to navigate the apparently reorganized French-language version of the site. In any case, more to follow.

Section 4 reportedly will be completed in 2025 (filling in the gap between Section 5 and existing northern A-85 segment), and Section 7 in late 2026 to complete A-85.

Update: The AARoads poster confirms that the new Section 5 segment, as well as the older Section 6, is signed as QC 185 rather than A-85. He expects that won't change until Section 4 opens next year, connecting Sections 5 and 6 to the northern A-85 segment (completed sections 1-3 of the A-85 completion project).
