Gotcha. I slid that point 0.04 mile southwest to Kay Centre Rd., which works for shaping and there's less question a road is there. Once I've nailed down a GPS read I took well to the north (which might be close enough to an existing point that there's no reason to add it), I'll clone the corrected TCHHai file to BC1Hai, and get both pulled into the GitHub master.

BC1AVan: TranBC says that it ends at the Vancouver city boundary (on the bridge), and I don't see any signage in Vancouver. No overall mileage will be lost since the route continues as BC99

Wikipedia says the route was decomissioned last year.

Consider adding BC1A Abbottsford (signed with BC10 and at intersections with BC 13 & BC 15 in GMSV imagery as recent as 7/2015)

Consider adding BC7A, which is (as of GMSV in 6/2015) signed in several places along Hastings St despite (according to Wikipedia) being decommissioned a few years ago.

I propose that we consider them signage mistakes. Although, the BC1A one seems to still exist, per the log below

OK. I'm never sure when to apply that rule. It looks like one exit goes to BC1 eastbound, and the other to BC1 westbound, so to me they seemed like part of a single entity that was spread out due to the unusual geography of that location.

Gotcha. I'm disinclined to add a point there to the TCH file, since it's less than a half-mile from the apparently more significant (signed as connector to BC 17 and BC Ferries) McKAve intersection. Plus, unlike interchanges to the northwest, it seems to have no posted exit number.

The three "doesn't intersect" points mapcat flagged look like closed intersections, except HudRd which looks like a right-in-right-out intersection via frontage roads, that I'll keep with a point tweak rather than replace it with an otherwise-needed shaping point. Since the others are not labels in use, I'll delete them, or if needed for shaping sub in a nearby actual intersection.

Other changes made, will be cloned to BC1Van and included in the pull request for TCHHai/BC16Hai once that's ready.

BC1Van: ... BC1A_S off

Point repositioned. The corresponding point in the BC 1A file will need to be synched to the new coordinates, but I'll leave that to Si since he might be working on that file as well.

BC118: MicBayFSR does not intersect

Agreed. Suggest a replacement point at the next intersection to the south, for Marina Way (northern access to the provincial park).

One or two more point suggestions based on handheld GPS readings, to cover the long gap between BC16 and AnnsRd, may follow in a week or two, once my vision has fully recovered from eye surgery.

I've modified the BC 118 route file, to replace MicBayFSR with a new MarWay point, add (from my handheld GPS receiver) a point for Tachet Creek Rd. to cut down a long visible distance error, and tweaked the GraMar endpoint to the end of pavement (also from my GPS) which also is a closer match to what's in the Landmark Kilometre Inventory. I'll include the revised BC 118 file in my upcoming pull request, along with the revised files for TCHHai, TCHVan, and the corresponding canbc route files.

Also, for BC 27 I added a GPS waypoint for FishLakeRd, to eliminate the route's only visible distance error. And per comment above, DouAve/StuDr => DouAve_N.

EDIT: My pull request had conflicts for the BC 27 and BC 118 files. I'll submit a revised request covering only the TCH files and their canbc counterparts, and later put BC 27 and BC 118 in a separate request.

Still need to later add GPS waypoints for BC 113, BC 97 south of Prince George, and TCH/BC 16 between Prince Rupert and Smithers.

BC16 is an active TCH route (TCHYel) in my domain. I was planning on adding some points here and there west of Prince George, to remove/reduce visible distance errors, but also do some streamlining in the process. Please wait for me to finish that in the next few days.

BC1 is also an active TCH route. in 2012 I added a bunch of points from my GPS receiver in the then-poorly-mapped Fraser Canyon area north of Hope (tipoff is both the lat and lon coordinates end in 0). Some of those points at intersections now mapped in Mapnik might need some adjustments. As for other work on the file, I have a huge backlog of stuff (TM and otherwise) now that I'm mostly recovered from eye surgery, so I was not planning on work on that route anytime soon. I suspect the abundance of waypoints is mostly due to the route's being very long and curvy, so there may not be a lot of room for streamlining over and above what I've already done.

For BC97, I have some GPS-based point additions south of Prince George, to address visible distance errors in the part of the route that has too few rather than two many visible points. It'd be easier to let me insert those new points (and remove shaping points no longer needed after the visible point adds), before any other work is done, to avoid conflicts with me and Si working on the same file at the same time.

Ditto BC113 (my point adds would be in the northern part of the route, but I can address mapcat's suggestions), and BC27 and BC118 (just a few point adds/relocations for each).

Ah, BC 97. That route was quite the monster when I first drafted it.

I've submitted a pair of pull requests, to do a thorough cleanup of TCH/BC 16, and more limited revisions to intersecting routes.

TCH/BC 16 adds a few points (one from my hand-held GPS receiver) to reduce or eliminate distance errors, trim unneeded shaping points, and recenter some waypoints. Also, after I made the pull request, I noticed that waypoint BC62 (decommissioned route) needs to be changed to ChuRd, which I'll take care of later. The new files aren't much slimmer than the old ones, which I had redone a few years ago. That suggests not a whole lot of potential point reductions in the similar TCH/BC 1 route files, though they could use another pass.

BC 27 and BC 118 each have one new point from my GPS receiver (TacCreRd for BC 118, FishLakeFSR for BC 27). For BC 118, GraMar was moved to end of pavement, also using GPS coordinates. I added four new points for BC 113, most from my GPS receiver: KluLakeRS, LavaLakePA, BelFalTr, and AnlRd (the last is the access road to Gitwinksihlkw village).

For BC 37, in addition to resycnhing its concurrence with BC 16, the south end in Kitmat was truncated to NalBlvd (per official route description), and BC113 => NassFSR now that we've determined BC 113 doesn't intersect BC 37. Still room for other changes elsewhere on the route.

For BC 97, I did a thorough cleanup between BC 26 and BC 16, adding new points to address distance errors. I had taken GPS coordinates along that stretch last summer for that purpose, but it turns out OSM/Mapnik improved its mapping since then, so I used OSM/Mapnik coordinates instead. The improved mapping may help address distance errors elsewhere on the route, which I traveled but didn't gather GPS coordinates, so I didn't look at those. Also, BC97A_Geo => OldCarHwy (that BC 97A was decommissioned, and I saw no BC 97A signage at that intersection), and PacAve (no intersection) replaced with ConWay.

BC 5 and BC 35 were edited only to resynch them with TCH/BC 16.

UPDATE: All the above changes are now in the HB, except the relabel of the BC62 point on TCH/BC 16, which I'l take care of next week.
